Course Overview
This special seminar is designed for you to dip your feet into where to go and what to do with all things beyond graduating. Time and time again actors find that after they graduate, they don’t know where to go to next to be seen and finally get some auditions!
This seminar will give you a great starting block into finding avenues and outlets for you to connect with within the industry, and be able to make strategic choices rather than waiting for the phone to call. This seminar is open to all actors!

This seminar is broken down into the following topics:
- How do I get an Agent?
- What is an Agent vs a Casting Director?
- Who are key people, names, directories, recourses that I need to know?
- Q&A at the end of the session.

This seminar will equip you and give you more confidence to step into the business of acting! You will:
- Know the best ways to contact agents and how
- Be educated with the industry – casting agents, agents, unions and much more!
- Empower yourself with the ability to promote yourself!

About Kat Hoyos
Kat is currently on Channel 9’s new drama for 2021: Amazing Grace, In the role of midwife Sasha Lorente.
Named one of the Next Gen Women of Film and TV by TVWeek, Kat has been placed in the spotlight through playing Layla Habib in Channel 9’s comedy Here Come the Habibs. The show was nominated for “Best International Comedy” at the Golden Nymph and the Berlin Rose D’OR Awards. In Australia, it was nominated for “Most Popular Comedy” and Kat for “Best New Talent” and “Most Popular Actress”. Her last film Chasing Comets (starring Isabel Lucas and Dan Ewing), made its premiere nationwide in 2018 and then on Channel 10.
A singer and dancer, Kat has toured Australia wide with Hairspray the musical. She was in the Australian and NZ tour of Jersey Boys, and performed at the Hayes theatre with the musical Xanadu. Kat has performed as a featured vocalist at the Channel 9 Carols by Candlelight.
Kat has made TV appearances as a dancer with Guy Sebastian, Paulini and Natalie Bassingthwaite as well as the MTV and Aria Awards, Hats Off! Nickelodeon’s Slimefest, The Australian Open Tennis final, The Helpmann Awards, Sunrise and Dancing with The Stars.
Kat Hoyos graduated from Performance (Music and Theatre) at the University of Wollongong (UOW) and completed her Cert IV in Dance at Brent Street Performing Arts. She is a current student at The Groundlings Improv Theatre School in Los Angeles, and at Improv Theatre Sydney. Behind the scenes she works with Playwriting Australia, and is in rooms for developing theatre and tv series. She is also an acting coach who passionate about diversity and has been on a number of panels using her journey to inspire and motivate upcoming artists.
