Emily Engeman
Emily is an Australian Actor, Musician and Writer based in Sydney. Recently, Emily performed The Stars At Noon, her debut one woman show based on the true story of 13 women and their fight for spaceflight. Her love of storytelling began from a very young age, and led her to be a member of the Australian Girls’ Choir. She is deeply passionate about telling untold, female-driven stories, and believes in the power of theatre to change people’s minds and change the world. In 2016, she graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Music Theatre. Emily is continuing her training under the vocal guidance of Beth Daly, and is thrilled to be finessing her acting skills as part of the Hub Studio’s inaugural Actor’s Ensemble. She is also continuing her movement training under the tuition of Penny Martin, and with the aid of regular classes at Sydney Dance Company, Studio Tibor, Natasha Crane and DUTI. Always one to expand her skill set, Emily is a budding pianist, and an occasional Krav Maga student. Her theatre credits include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Rapunzel in Into the Woods, Henry V, The Boys, and the lead role of Mary in the staged reading and workshop of a new Australian musical, Bondi High, directed by Nicholas Christo. Emily additionally enjoys singing regularly at weddings and corporate luncheons. In 2020, Emily is thrilled to be performing The Stars At Noon again, this time as part of Flight Path Theatre’s inaugural Flight Path Festival, and is excited to continue developing this piece, in addition to beginning work on a brand new cabaret.
