FREE MONTHLY PLAY & SCRIPT  READINGS – OPEN FOR SUBMISSION

Have a great play or new project read publicly at The HubStudio. We’ll work with the successful applicant to produce a professional event, read by professional actors for FREE.

The HubStudio Play Readings are a monthly event. Of the eight readings we have had to date, five projects have gone on to more development, and production. Its a great resource and we encourage you to apply. We currently have the following Friday session open for submission; 30th September 2016. We are open to any great script from any era, country, genre, time or place, new or old, famous or undiscovered. We will accept both feature film, short film and play scripts even radio plays. What we’re looking for is a professional actor, writer, director or producer who is looking to project manage a great reading with their peers. We ask for high quality content, a determined project manager, and dedicated professional actors to perform the parts. Look upon this as an opportunity to sound out new exciting material or breath life into a project you’ve always wanted to do!

Successful applicants will be those projects that can demonstrate the ability to deliver a high quality public reading with professional production skills and a focused attitude. The successful applicants will be given a minimum of two weeks notice.

Project Description:

What we provide:

What WE provide: 1.) Up to six hours of free rehearsal space at The Hub Studio prior to the event and at our discretion. the event and at our discretion. 2.) We will ensure the venue is available from 6pm - 11pm on the night of the event. 3.) We will provide public liability insurance for the event. 4.) We will provide all necessary event furniture and will help in the set up and pack down of the event. 5.) We will provide in-kind marketing support; including mailouts and social media. 6.) We will help in sourcing suitable actors from our database. 7.) We will NOT provide costuming or props, lighting or staging equipment. 8.) We will allow use of the venue's equipment if necessary; including the sound equipment for playback. What YOU provide: 1.) It is your responsibility to project manage the entire event in consultation with The Hub Studio including rehearsals and all logistics. 2.) You will provide all necessary photocopying including copies of the script at your own expense. 3.) You will provide all actors and use Hub Studio members where possible. 4.) You will provide all necessary props and costumes for the reading. 5.) You will adhere at all times to the Hire Conditions as sent to you upon approval of your application. 6.) You will ensure your team helps set up and pack down the event.
